This photo was taken on our first official meeting as an incorporated body on the 27/7/2018. After being together for eleven years a large majority of members decided to change direction and do the things we were all passionate about, which is of course, doing more for the kids in our care. We also wanted to raise funds to be able to provide outings and activities for both the carers and kids. In less than a year, we have moved ahead at an incredible rate, with many events for all. This is as a result of all of us working hard together to make these activities possible.
We are a friendly group who help each other navigate our way through the very difficult Kinship care system. We support each other with whatever issues arise and help with moral support when dealing with the authorities, and are wiling to assist with advocacy in meetings with bureaucracy.

The name Rivergum, was adopted around ten years ago after a group vote, we decided on the name because our meeting hall had a large River gum tree situated in the front of the grounds, we chose this picture when we re-formed in 2018 after a vote of all members.
